How it works
Plan your life.
Protect your family.
Bequest helps you create the documents that matter: your Will, Enduring Power of Attorney (EPOA), Advance Medical Directive (AMD), and more. Complete them online at your own pace. Patricia Ho and Associates, a Hong Kong solicitors’ firm, reviews and witnesses your documents. Simple process. Real legal weight.
Two ways to plan
How you pay depends on what you create.
At Bequest, there are two kinds of document. The process is slightly different for each one.
Legal documents: your Will, Deed of Guardianship, EPOA, and AMD.
These are legal documents prepared under Hong Kong law. Patricia Ho and Associates reviews and witnesses each one.
Draft freely.
Start any legal document anytime. Complete the form at your own pace. Your answers save automatically, so you can come back whenever you want. No charge to begin, and no time limit.
Book your appointment and pay.
When you are ready, book a signing appointment with Patricia Ho and Associates. Payment is due when you confirm the appointment. Review more than one document in the same session and you may qualify for a bundle discount. After payment, you can download your draft PDF.
Sign, and keep the original.
Patricia Ho and Associates reviews your documents and provides professional witness services at your appointment. You keep the original wet-ink signed copy, and we upload a signed digital copy to your dashboard.
My people
The people you name. All in one place.
Every time you name someone in a document, whether your executor, your beneficiaries, your children, your guardian, or your attorney, they are saved to your contact list. You never enter the same person twice. Your contact list grows as you complete more documents.
Why this matters. Your family does not have to search through papers to find who is responsible for what. One list. Everyone you trust, their roles, and their contact details. Clear and current.
My estate
What you own. Where it is. Who to call.
List your properties, bank accounts, investments, insurance policies, and digital accounts. Not in painful detail. Just enough for your executor to know what exists and where to find it.
Your Assets list sits alongside your Will and your contact list. When the time comes, your executor has the full picture: the document that says who gets what, the list of people to contact, and the record of what you owned.
After you sign
Your documents. Always yours.
After your documents are signed and witnessed, the wet-ink originals are yours to keep. A digital signed copy is always available in your account. If Bequest ever ceases operations, we email every document you have created to your account address before closure.
You own your documents.
Unconditionally.
The executor journey
When the time comes, your executor is ready.
Your executor is the person who carries out the instructions in your Will. It is a significant responsibility. Bequest supports them through every step.
They are notified.
You name your executor when you create your Will. We send them a notification so they know they have been appointed. No surprises. They can read a guide that explains what the role involves, long before they ever need to act.
They have what they need.
When the time comes, your executor logs into the Executor Portal. They see your Will, your contact list, your Assets list, and your Final Wishes. Everything in one place. They know who to contact, what you owned, and what you wanted.
They are guided through probate.
The Executor Portal walks them through probate step by step: applying for the grant, collecting assets, paying debts, and distributing the estate. Patricia Ho and Associates is available to advise if they need legal guidance.
They close the estate with confidence.
When everything is done, your executor has a complete record of what was done and when. No loose ends. No second-guessing. Your family moves forward.
Before you begin
Have these ready.
Your Hong Kong Identity Card, or your passport if you do not hold an HKID.
The full names of the people you want to name, including your executor, your beneficiaries, your guardian, and your attorney. You can add them as you go.
A rough sense of what you own. Not a spreadsheet. Just a general picture.
About 20 minutes for each document. You can stop and return anytime.
Most people never get around to it.
The documents that protect your family do not create themselves. You can start today and finish when you are ready.
